Program Introduction

Preparatory education is a stage designed for international students before they enter  undergraduate programs, aimed at facilitating cross-cultural transition from secondary education abroad to higher education in China. Preparatory education serves as pre-university foundational training, and for international students in China, it involves basic university preparatory courses taken prior to undergraduate study. The International Foundation Program for International Students at UIBE is an undergraduate preparatory program specifically designed for inter- national students. Its goal is to equip students, after one academic year (fall and spring semesters) or one semester (spring semester only), with Chinese listening, speaking, reading, writing, and foundational knowledge in mathematics and sciences, enabling them to meet the admission requirements for Chinese-taught undergraduate programs at UIBE. Students who enroll in this program and successfully pass the Chinese Government Scholarship Council’s Undergraduate  Academic Proficiency Test for International Students (CSCA) can directly proceed into UIBE’s Chinese-taught undergraduate programs.

Program Features

01  A "trinity" curriculum system: "Intensive Chinese" to solidify language foundations, "Academic Orientation" to align precisely with undergraduate studies, and "Cultural Adaptation" to deepen identification with Chinese culture.

02  An intensive and efficient teaching model, featuring concentrated, rigorous Chinese language training, along with supplementary instruction focused on core knowledge of specialized Chinese, mathematics, and sciences.

03  Skill-specific Chinese courses designed to comprehensively improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities, supplemented by HSK preparation, practice, and CSCA mock tests.

04  A system integrating SPOC (Small Private Online Courses), flipped classrooms, and AI-powered feedback, utilizing AI to identify students’ language learning blind spots and dynamically adjust teaching strategies.

05  A multidimensional "Chinese+" system that breaks away from the traditional "pure language preparatory" framework, integrating language, academics, culture, and technology.

06  A teaching team with an international perspective, solid professional foundations, extensive teaching experience, strong disciplinary backgrounds, and high intercultural competence. Through "cultural workshops +immersive practices," such as simulated Chinese business  negotiation scenarios, students enhance cross-cultural communication skills and shorten the cultural adaptation cycle.
